Labour Day Block Party

The Dome Nightclub is hosting its Labour Day Block Party on Sunday, September 6, running from 10 p.m. until 3:30 a.m. It's a late-night one, so it's more of a long-haul dance than a quick drink.

If you've never been, The Dome is on Argyle Street in downtown Halifax. It's a big room built for dancing, with six fully stocked bars that stay open until the doors close at 3:30 a.m., so you won't be fighting for a drink when the floor is full. The DJ booth is a Red Bull one, perched up high and overlooking the dance floor, and there are dance boxes and dance poles around the room. It's the kind of setup that works better the later it gets.

Since it's a block party, the whole night is built around the dance floor, with music going until the early hours. It's a long stretch—five and a half hours—so if you're planning to stay until the end, you'll be there well past midnight. The bars keep serving the entire time, and the music doesn't stop until the lights come up.

Getting in is C$5 before 11 p.m., and it goes up to C$10 after that, so arriving early saves you a few bucks. Drinks are C$2.50. The party starts at 10 p.m. and runs until 3:30 a.m. at The Dome, 1743 Grafton Street.
