Atlantic Canada's biggest Super Smash Bros and fighting game tournament, featuring a wide range of fighting game titles across a weekend of competition.
Kings of Hali 9 returns to the Lighthouse Arts Centre downtown from Friday, September 4 to Sunday, September 6, bringing Atlantic Canada's biggest Super Smash Bros and fighting game tournament back to the city for a full weekend of competition.
The brackets run across a huge range of titles. The series staples Super Smash Bros. Melee and Ultimate both have singles and doubles, with Smash 64 singles in the mix too. The fighting game side covers the big names like Street Fighter 6, Tekken 8, and Guilty Gear: Strive, alongside 2XKO, Sailor Moon S, Rivals of Aether 2, Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3, Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, Blazblue: Central Fiction, Marvel Tokon: Fighting souls, Guilty Gear Xrd REV2, Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves, and Street Fighter III 3rd Strike. It's a wide spread, from the newest releases to older cult favourites.
The tournament is billed as Atlantic Canada's biggest Super Smash Bros and fighting game event, and it's back in downtown Halifax with a full weekend of competition across all those titles. The organisers also note that Nintendo is not a sponsor of or affiliated with the tournament.

It runs Friday from 3:00 pm to 11:00 pm, and Saturday and Sunday from 9:00 am to 11:00 pm, so there's plenty of room to drop in for a few brackets or stick around for the whole thing. Entry is C$10 for Melee and Ultimate singles, and C$5 each for FGC brackets and side games, with teams costing C$10 when applicable. The venue is the Lighthouse Arts Centre at 1800 Argyle Street.
