Billy Raffoul plays The Carleton on Saturday, October 3, as part of the Halifax Urban Folk Festival. He's coming from Leamington, Ontario, and this is his first time performing on the East Coast. He'll play both solo and with The Halifax All Stars, so you'll get to hear him in two different settings in one night.
He arrives as the first HUFF artist with over a billion collective Spotify streams and upwards of two billion YouTube views. Last summer he put out two full-length albums, Billy Raffoul and When I Cross The River, which he describes as two sides of the same soul. He works with Mike Elizondo, Linda Perry, Daniel Tashian, and bandmate Justin Zuccato.
Opening the night is a songwriters' circle made up of headliners from other parts of the festival. Chris Murphy, a singer/songwriter from Kingston, Ontario, joins platinum-selling Halifax pop artist Ria Mae and Halifax singer-songwriter Mat Hughes.
