Edmonton-based songwriter Eric Kane makes his East Coast debut with a seated show at The Carleton, focusing on vulnerable storytelling and self-love.
Eric Kane makes his East Coast debut at The Carleton on Wednesday, September 16, with a seated show in downtown Halifax. He's an Edmonton-based songwriter, and this is his first time playing in the region.
Kane was the frontman of KANE INCOGNITO, whose work got national radio play and earned nominations for Rock Recording of the Year and Indie Rock Recording of the Year at the Edmonton Music Awards. He's opened for a string of international acts and pulls in more than 200,000 monthly listeners on Spotify, so he's not exactly a complete unknown, even if he's new to these shores.
This show marks a return to his roots in vulnerable storytelling and self-love. The music comes from a personal place: after the loss of a brother, he turned to songwriting. Before that, he was the drummer in his brother's band, No Heat Tomorrow, so he's spent years on both sides of the stage. The set will be a seated one, which fits the more intimate, storytelling side of his work.

The show runs from 7:00 to 9:00 pm at The Carleton in downtown Halifax. Tickets are C$30 plus HST, which comes to C$34.20 including taxes.
