Live music session featuring experimental industrial rave, electro techno punk and a local DJ at Stilwell Brewing Co.
Crisis Hotline, Babies R Stupid and Sir Real are playing Stilwell Brewing Co. on Saturday, August 29. It's a late one, running from 10:00 pm through to 2:00 am, so it's more of a night out than a quick drop-in.
Crisis Hotline describes their sound as an experimental industrial rave built around live drums and live vocals. It's a loud, rhythmic approach that keeps the energy high and the drums front and centre. Babies R Stupid comes in from Detroit, playing live electro techno punk with samplers, synths, vocals and effects. Between the two, you've got a night that leans heavily into the electronic and the industrial, with plenty of live playing rather than just pushing play on a laptop.
Rounding out the bill is Sir Real, a Halifax DJ who's a regular at L'esprit and Big Speaker Freakout. He'll be keeping things moving between the live sets, so the music doesn't stop when the bands step off. It's a solid mix of industrial rave, electro punk and DJ sets, all under one roof.
