Craig Cardiff

Craig Cardiff plays The Carleton on Wednesday, February 3, 2027, from 7:00 to 9:00 PM. He's an Arnprior, Ontario-based singer-songwriter and troubadour who builds landscapes of sound using live digital loops, so you'll see him working with a guitar in hand and layering his parts as he goes. The sound sits on the folk side of things—edged and melancholy—and he's known throughout Canada, with a following growing across North America and into parts of Europe.

He's a songwriter who keeps the relationship with his audience personal, often inviting the room to become part of the performance. Gordon Lightfoot once called him "a songwriter who needs to be heard," and critics have drawn comparisons to Paul Simon and Van Morrison, placing him in the upper echelon of Canadian folk artists. It's a seated show, so it's more of a listening room night than a standing crowd.

The Carleton is at 1685 Argyle Street, a live music venue and restaurant in a building that dates back to 1760. That makes it one of the oldest in Nova Scotia; it was once the home of Sir Richard Bulkley, the "Father of the province," and took its name in 1786 in honour of Governor General Guy Carlton.

Tickets are C$25 plus HST. If you can't make the Wednesday, there's a second show the following evening, Thursday, February 4, starting at 7:30 PM.
