Annapolis Brewing Co. and Tanner & Co. Brewing go head-to-head at The Carleton on Wednesday, September 23, for another Craft Draught Showdown. It's a head-to-head between two breweries, and the whole evening is built around a five-course dinner by Chef Mathias Probst and his team.
Here's how it works: each course is paired by the competing brewmasters with two 4 oz. brews, one from each brewery. So for every plate, you've got two different beers to compare side by side. Throughout the night, the chefs and brewmasters join the guests to tell the story behind each pairing, and at the end, the audience votes to decide which brewery takes the win. It's a long dinner, and you're the one deciding who comes out on top.
If you've been following the series, you know the format. The Carleton has run these as a regular thing, pitting local breweries against each other in pairs. This one puts Annapolis up against Tanner & Co., with Probst's kitchen handling the food. It's as much about the conversation and the stories behind the beer as it is about the tasting, and since the brewmasters are in the room, you can ask them about the pairings as they happen.
