Indie-rock band Colrain celebrates the release of their new album with a live performance supported by George Woodhouse at The Carleton.
Colrain are back at The Carleton on Saturday, August 29, for their album release show. They're playing with George Woodhouse, and the night is built around the new record, which they've been working toward since late summer 2026.
Colrain hail from Wolfville, Nova Scotia, and they've built their name as an indie-rock ensemble with a strong tie to their local community. Their sets tend to pull from two different moods: melancholic ballads on one end and uplifting rock on the other, and the new material follows that same range. Two singles, 'Jackie' and 'January Wine', have already come out as a preview of where the record sits.
This is their first time back on stage in the city since they opened for Hobo Aquarium in November of last year. That was a while ago, so this is the first time they've played here since the new album has actually arrived. They'll be sharing the bill with George Woodhouse, who joins them for the release celebration.

The show runs from 8:00 to 11:00 pm at The Carleton in downtown Halifax. It's a general admission standing room, though there's limited seating available by advance reservation if you'd rather be sitting. Tickets are C$20 plus HST in advance and C$25 plus HST at the door.
