Ben's Doing Fine

Ben's Doing Fine are back at the Crown Royal Stage in Rox Live on Friday, September 4, and they're staying for a second night on Saturday, September 5. Both sets run from 10:30 pm to 1:30 am, so these are late ones that go well past midnight. The venue is at 1743 Grafton Street in downtown Halifax.

If you haven't come across them before, Ben's Doing Fine is a four-piece rock cover and party band based in Dartmouth. They play across Halifax, Dartmouth, and Atlantic Canada, and they're just as likely to be found at bars and pubs as they are at weddings, private parties, corporate events, fundraisers, and festivals. Their sets lean on hits from the 80s, 90s, and today, so you'll hear a fair bit of ground covered in a single night.

They describe their sound as being built on strong vocal harmonies and musicianship true to the original recordings, and each of the four members brings live performance and studio recording experience to the stage. A typical night for them is three 45-minute sets, and they can play outdoors as well. They also offer a Spotify or DJ service before, after, and between their sets, which keeps the music going even when they're not on stage.

Cover is C$5, which goes up to C$10 after 11 pm, so getting in early pays off. Drinks are C$2.50 and there's a C$7.00 food menu, and with the band playing until 1:30 am, there's plenty of time to make use of both.
