This coming weekend, Halifax is hosting another edition of Nova Multifest, the annual festival that brings together different cultural communities from across the province. Running from Friday, July 24 to Sunday, July 26, 2026, the event takes place at the Alderney Landing Events Plaza in Dartmouth, right on the waterfront.

Over the three days, the plaza will feature live music performances, cultural art displays, community workshops, and various demonstrations from local and international groups. You will also find stalls with native delicacies and food from different cultures, along with a dedicated area serving cold beer from a local brewery. Saturday night will feature a fireworks show over the harbour as part of the evening programming.
Admission to the entire festival is completely free. The site opens on Friday evening from 6:00 PM to 10:00 PM. On Saturday, hours run from 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM, and Sunday wraps up earlier, running from 12:00 PM to 6:00 PM. It is a straightforward, open-air plan right by the ferry terminal, making it easy to drop by for a few hours or spend the afternoon checking out the performances and stalls.
The event takes place in Mi'kma'ki, the ancestral and unceded territory of the Mi'kmaw Nation, who have been the caretakers of this land for millennia. For full schedules, artist lineups, and updates over the weekend, you can check out the official festival details directly on multifestns.ca.
