Bike Again! is a volunteer-run, do-it-yourself bike repair and reuse shop at 5664 Charles Street in Halifax. It is part of the Ecology Action Centre, which provides the space, tools and some practical know-how, while volunteers help people work on their own bikes. The shop began in 2000 and has repaired and loaned at least 2,000 bikes through thousands of volunteer hours. The atmosphere is hands-on and community-focused rather than like a standard repair counter: you bring the bike, learn what needs doing and use the available tools with guidance.

Services include DIY bike repairs, mobile repairs through the PopUp Bike Hub, Earn-A-Bike, workshops and donated-bike reuse. Donated bikes may be refurbished for public use in exchange for a suggested donation, stripped for usable parts or recycled if they cannot be repaired. That makes the shop useful both for routine maintenance and for people who want to build practical skills without needing previous experience. Volunteering is also open to beginners; the main requirement is a friendly attitude and willingness to help. Volunteer enquiries can be sent to bikeagainvolunteer@ecologyaction.ca.
The regular public evening is Wednesday from 18:00 to 21:00, when all are welcome. Thursday from 18:00 to 21:00 is a volunteer bike-build night and is not generally open to the public, apart from bike sales. Shifting Gears, formerly the Women and Trans bike repair collective, meets two Sundays each month from 13:00 to 16:00. These sessions are for femme, trans, non-binary and gender non-conforming people, with dates updated monthly on the public Facebook page. Bike Again! is closed Mondays, Tuesdays, Fridays and Saturdays, so it is sensible to check the latest schedule before heading over. The shop can be reached at 902-429-2202 or bikeagain@ecologyaction.ca. Google Maps lists it at 4.8/5 from 57 reviews, although hours and session dates can change.
