Tom Allen returns to the Glasgow stage with his new comedy show Totally, exploring the absurdities of modern life.
Tom Allen is back on the Glasgow stage on Friday 12 May 2028, playing the King's Theatre with his new comedy show, Totally. It's a stand-up hour that takes the absurdities of modern life and turns them into a night out, and if you've seen him before, you'll know exactly the kind of thing he means by that.
Totally builds its comedy from the mundane frustrations we all recognise. He draws on the daily grind of commuting, the particular kind of stress that comes with home plumbing mishaps, and the grating presence of annoying influencers. Those are the starting points, and from there he works his way towards a warm, witty perspective on that feeling of not quite fitting in. It's the sort of material that starts with a small, relatable annoyance and stretches it out until the whole thing feels a bit ridiculous.
As the title suggests, the show is a full hour of stand-up, with Allen as the sole feature on the bill. He's returning to the Glasgow stage with this one, so it's a new run of dates rather than a one-off. If you're familiar with his style, you'll know it's less about the big punchline and more about the way he observes the world around him, finding the comedy in the things most of us just put up with.
