The Sheepdogs blend Southern boogie rock, groove-based psychedelia and bluesy barroom swagger into a modern rock 'n' roll revival.
The Sheepdogs play Saint Luke's and the Winged Ox on Wednesday 11 November, bringing their particular brand of rock and roll to the East End. It's a single-act bill, with the Canadian band taking the full slot.
If you're not familiar with them, they're a group that pulls from a few different places at once. They describe their sound as a blend of Southern boogie rock, groove-based psychedelia and bluesy barroom swagger, all worked into a modern rock 'n' roll revival. It's a fair amount of ground to cover in one set: the boogie side points towards the loose, rolling feel of the South, the psychedelia brings in the more expansive, trippy textures, and that barroom swagger is the bluesy, foot-tapping side of things. When they come together, it's a full-band sound that sits comfortably in the rock 'n' roll tradition.

That's also what they're bringing live. The set is built around those same elements — the boogie, the psychedelia and the bluesy rock — and they're playing it at Saint Luke's, which is in Glasgow's East End. The date is Wednesday 11 November, so it's a mid-week one. If you've got the night free, it's a good chance to catch them in the city.
