A concert celebrating the greatest years of rock with Queen, Fleetwood Mac, AC/DC, Metallica and Black Sabbath.
The History of Rock comes to Cottiers on Sunday 30 May 2027, a concert that pulls from several decades of rock. The set is built around the music of Queen, Fleetwood Mac, AC/DC, Metallica and Black Sabbath, with more names added to the mix along the way. It's a wide reach — from the melodic pop-rock of Fleetwood Mac and the stadium anthems of Queen to the heavy riffs of AC/DC, Metallica and Black Sabbath — so the evening moves across a fair bit of ground.
Cottiers is in the West End, at 93-95 Hyndland Street, G11 5PU. It's a historic building that houses a theatre, a restaurant and a bar. The theatre itself is a room of 206 seats, set against stained glass and ornate timberwork, though it can be finished in a black interior for certain types of drama. The bar is highly decorated, with a terrace barbeque in the summer, and the first-floor restaurant has shimmering gold ceilings, original salvaged church chairs and handcrafted gilt mirrors overlooking an illuminated church steeple and mature gardens. It's a venue with a lot of character, and the theatre's small capacity keeps things on the intimate side.
