Glasgow-based tribute band Spiders On Mars perform David Bowie hits at Cottiers in the Glasgow West End.
Spiders On Mars are playing Cottiers on Saturday 27 March 2027, from 7.45pm to 10.30pm. They're a Glasgow-based six-piece tribute to David Bowie, formed back in 2004 and billed as Scotland's favourite Bowie tribute. Their set draws on more than 40 classic hits and fan favourites, and they also do full album performances.
What sets them apart is how much of Bowie's career they cover in one go. They run through the early years of The Man Who Sold the World and Space Oddity, the Ziggy years and The Thin White Duke, the blue-eyed soul of Young Americans, the New Wave of Ashes To Ashes, the anthemic Heroes and the disco-funk of Let's Dance. It's a long reach across several decades of music, and they pull from almost every era he worked in.
They describe themselves not as a tribute act but as a rocking tribute to the music of David Bowie, and that's a distinction worth keeping in mind. The focus is on the songs rather than the persona. With six people on stage, they've got the numbers to do justice to the bigger arrangements, and they've been at it for over twenty years, so they know the catalogue inside out.
