Marti Pellow stars as Ebenezer Scrooge in the festive stage musical adaptation of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, directed by Thom Southerland.
Marti Pellow takes on the title role in Scrooge the Musical at the SEC Armadillo, which runs from 12 December 2026 to 10 January 2027. It's a limited five-week run, so it sits right in the middle of the Christmas period rather than stretching deep into the new year. The show is a stage adaptation of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, and the music comes from Leslie Bricusse, who adapted and expanded his Academy Award-nominated score from the 1970 film for the stage. It's full of festive numbers like 'Father Christmas', 'December the Twenty-Fifth', 'Thank You Very Much' and 'I Like Life'.
Pellow is a familiar face around here, and his career has moved through pop, jazz and soul, with West End roles in Chicago, Evita, Chess, The Witches of Eastwick and Jekyll & Hyde, as well as chart-topping albums and the record for the longest Number One in UK chart history. He's joined by Karen Dunbar as The Ghost of Christmas Past, Gavin Mitchell as Jacob Marley, George Acworth as Harry, Wendy Mae Brown as Mrs Fezziwig, Martin Callaghan as The Ghost of Christmas Present, Valerie Cutko as The Ghost of Christmas Yet to Come, Kristofer Harding as Mr Fezziwig, Kelly Mathieson as Isabel, Ruairidh McDonald as Bob Cratchit, SuRie as Mrs Cratchit, Samuel Thomas as Young Ebby, Shona White as Thomasina Jenkins, Gabriella Williams as Miss Dilber, Tiny Tim Cratchit shared by Louis Davies and Percy Tulley, Kathy Cratchit by Lily Hanna, and Boy by Sebastian Cervenec and Tobias Cervenec. It's directed by Thom Southerland, with TJ Lloyd as Resident Director and Clare Rickard as Dance Captain. Southerland is an Evening Standard Award nominee whose credits include Titanic The Musical, Noel and Gertie, The Illusionist and Chitty Chitty Bang Bang. The production is produced and general managed by Danielle Tarento and Austin Shaw.
