The RCS Choir conducted by Andrew Nunn presents a programme of choral repertoire including Poulenc, Duruflé and Fauré.
The RCS Choir perform at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland on Thursday 26 November, with the concert starting at 18:00 and running for about an hour. It's a programme of choral repertoire conducted by Andrew Nunn, and the bulk of the evening is taken up by Duruflé's Requiem.
Around that, they've pulled together a few other pieces from the French choral tradition. There's Poulenc's Ave Verum Corpus and Litanies à la Vierge Noire, and Fauré's Cantique de Jean Racine. It's a fairly focused set, with the Duruflé Requiem as the main event and the Poulenc and Fauré pieces filling out the rest of the hour. If you're familiar with that particular corner of choral music, you'll recognise the names.
The venue is the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland, right in Glasgow City Centre. It's a world-leading conservatoire for music, drama, dance, production and film, and it's open to more than just the students: the cafe serves fresh coffee to the public, and it's one of those creative spaces where you might stumble upon an impromptu performance. This is one of their public performances, so it's a chance to hear the choir in the building where they train.
