Quiz Night With Davey

Davey is taking over Berlinkys on Thursday 15 October for his smartphone quiz, and it's not a one-off — he's back on the 22nd and 29th as well, so if you miss the first one, you've got two more chances before the month is out. It's a Thursday night thing, and it runs from 8pm, which makes it a decent mid-week outing rather than something you have to clear your whole weekend for.

The whole thing is called Dave's Smartphone Quiz, and it's built around the phone in your pocket rather than the old-school pen-and-paper rounds. Davey describes it as a twist on the ordinary Thursday night quiz, and that's where the smartphone part comes in: you'll be using your device to play along, which keeps the pace up and means you're not spending half the night waiting for a sheet to be collected and marked. It's fast-paced trivia mixed with interactive games, so it's as much about the doing as it is about the knowing.

Between the rounds, there are plenty of laughs and fantastic prizes up for grabs, so you don't even need to be a walking encyclopaedia to get something out of it. It's the kind of night that works just as well with a regular team as it does if you just turn up and find your way into a group on the night.

Berlinkys is at 396 Sauchiehall Street in Glasgow City Centre, G2 3JD, right in the thick of things, and the best part is that entry is free. It starts at 8pm on Thursdays 15, 22 and 29 October, with more Thursday dates to follow.
