Level 42 legend Mike Lindup brings his new trio, with bassist Yolanda Charles and drummer John Sam, for a night of funk and reimagined hits.
Mike Lindup is playing Cottiers on Thursday 22 October, with his new trio. He's a founding member, vocalist, keyboardist and principal songwriter of Level 42, and this is his headline live project. He'll be on keys and vocals, joined by bassist Yolanda Charles MBE and drummer John Sam. It's a night of funk and reimagined hits, so you'll hear the Level 42 songs you know stripped back and reworked for a three-piece.
Lindup has a long run behind him: six Top 10 singles and seven Top 10 albums, and four solo records. He's also worked with Eric Clapton, Dominic Miller and Da Lata, and Gilles Peterson has called him one of his all-time favourite vocalists. The trio made its live debut in December 2025 with headline shows in Paris, London, Newcastle and Milton Keynes, and was featured on Peterson's Rhodes Trilogy programme. This Glasgow date follows the band's full-band performances at London's Jazz CafƩ and Union Chapel.
