Michael Cassidy and his full band celebrate the launch of his new album The Nurse's Son with a live album launch party.
Michael Cassidy is bringing his full band to Cottiers on Friday 27 November to launch his new album, The Nurse's Son. It's a live album launch party, so the night is built around the new record, with a full set of songs from it alongside favourites from his earlier work. He's not playing solo for this one; he'll be backed by his full band, and there are special guests to be announced.
Cassidy is a Glasgow singer-songwriter who blends contemporary folk with melodic pop, storytelling and a warm, distinctive voice. He won the inaugural Gerry Rafferty Songwriting Award and has shared stages with Ben Howard, Frightened Rabbit, Amy Macdonald and Martha Wainwright. The Nurse's Son follows the release of the title track, which he describes as his most personal collection of songs yet, exploring family, memory and identity. He's bringing the record to the stage with his full band for an intimate launch party at one of Glasgow's most distinctive venues, with a full live set and special guests to be announced.
