New York-based singer-songwriter Margaret Glaspy headlines Saint Luke's as part of her upcoming tour, presenting her album 'I Am Both'.
Margaret Glaspy plays Saint Luke's on Sunday 18 October, as part of her current tour. She's a New York-based singer and songwriter, and the Glasgow date is one of several stops she's making across the UK.
Much of the talk around her recently centres on I Am Both, the album produced by Joe Henry — the three-time Grammy winner who's worked with Aimee Mann and Joan Baez. The way she put it together is a bit of a story in itself: she stepped away from social media, wrote her lyrics in longhand, and polished them on a typewriter. The title track is built around a female character she looks up to, a woman who contains multitudes while seeing reality very clearly. It's the kind of detail that sticks when you're listening to the record, and it's the kind of thing that usually finds its way into the live set.
On the night, it's just Glaspy on the bill. The show is presented by 432 Presents, and it's restricted to ages 14 and over, with under-16s needing to come with an adult. If you're planning to bring someone younger, that's the one bit of admin to keep in mind before you book.
