Kyle MacLachlan shares behind-the-scenes stories from his Hollywood career in a live talk, joined by Ali Plumb.
Kyle MacLachlan is coming to the King's Theatre on Sunday 18 October for Fictional Selves, a live talk about his life and career in Hollywood. He'll be joined on stage by Ali Plumb, and the Glasgow date is the first of a short tour, with Edith Bowman joining him at the Opera House in Manchester and Richard Herring at Central Hall Westminster in London.
MacLachlan is one of those actors you recognise instantly, even if you can't always place the role. His filmography runs from Dune and Twin Peaks to Desperate Housewives, Sex and the City, Fallout and TikTok. Fictional Selves is his account of that offbeat journey through the industry and the projects that shaped him. He traces it back to his beginnings in Yakima, Washington, and talks about a lifelong hesitance towards fame that led him to an alter ego he calls 'Other Kyle'. He also covers his on- and off-screen romantic entanglements, his relationship with the late director and close friend David Lynch, and his take on fatherhood. He'll share behind-the-scenes stories before taking questions from the audience.
