A free family day of crafts, games, sports and trails to celebrate Kelvin Hall's 10th birthday, with a dedicated pre-5s zone.
Kelvin Hall is celebrating its tenth birthday on Saturday 7 November, and they're marking it with a free family day from 13:00 to 16:00. It's part of the National Library of Scotland's annual Family Fun Day, so it's one of those afternoons that works as a come-along session — you just turn up when you like, no booking needed. The crafts, games, sports and trails are spread across the building, so you can drift from one thing to another at your own pace rather than following a set schedule. There's something for children of all ages, including a dedicated pre-5s zone for the smaller ones.
One of the best things about the day is that it doesn't stop at the activities. Kelvin Hall is shared by the National Library of Scotland's Moving Image Archive, Glasgow Museums and the Hunterian, so there's plenty else to see under the same roof. You can spend the afternoon with the family day and then wander through the galleries and archives without having to leave the building.
Every week we pick 🏆 the 5 best 🏆 things to do in Glasgow and send them to your inbox. Just one weekly email, no spam.

If you're driving, the Burnhouse Road car park is the one to use. It's got ChargePlace Scotland electric charging and Blue Badge spaces, which makes it a bit easier if you're coming from further out. Entry is free, and it runs from 13:00 to 16:00 at Kelvin Hall, 1445 Argyle Street, Glasgow West End, G3 8AW.
