Stand-up comedian Joe Lycett brings his new show to the King's Theatre in Glasgow.
Joe Lycett is back at the King's Theatre on Friday 14 January 2028, with a new show he's calling unleashed. He describes the title as a bit of a joke: he was leashed, and now the leash has been removed. The set promises jokes, a sprinkling of social justice, material about being a father, and a little about his time on Celebrity Traitors.
If you've only come to know him through the telly, there's a fair bit of ground to cover first. Lycett started out at Manchester University, where he won the Chortle Student Comedy Award in 2009, and has since built a following with the Channel 4 consumer-comedy hybrid Joe Lycett's Got Your Back and presenting BBC Two's The Great British Sewing Bee. He also landed at number seven in Ents24's Hardest Working Comedians of 2018. The Guardian called him an 'intensely charming and talented young comic', and Time Out described him as 'one of the strongest emerging comedy talents'.
On stage, he's known for an unaffected and relaxed presence, so this is a good one if you prefer your stand-up to feel like a conversation rather than a performance. The new material pulls from a few different places: the personal side of fatherhood, the political side of social justice, and the more recent experience of Celebrity Traitors. It's a return to Glasgow for him, so he'll be playing to a home crowd in the West End.
