Indie rockers Hope of the States bring their post-rock anthems to Stereo Cafe Bar in Glasgow City Centre.
Hope of the States play Stereo Cafe Bar on Sunday 21 March, their first Glasgow date since reuniting. It's a long way from where they started: the band formed in Chichester in 2000 and built a devoted following around an atmospheric mix of alternative rock, post-rock dynamics and orchestral instrumentation. Led by frontman Sam Herlihy, they gained critical acclaim for their top 20 debut album The Lost Riots in 2004 and the follow-up Left in 2006, before disbanding.
That split lasted eighteen years. They reunited in 2024 and have since released compilation material, played festivals and put out new singles, including 'Billboard Mountain'. This show is part of that return, with the set drawing on the early records and the new material they've been working on since coming back together.
