The musical Dirty Dancing returns to Glasgow as part of a UK and Irish tour, bringing the classic story of Baby and Johnny to life with music and dance.
Dirty Dancing returns to the King's Theatre from Tuesday 13 October, with the Glasgow run forming part of a UK and Ireland tour that continues through 2026 and 2027. The stage show brings the hit film to life, following the classic story of Baby and Johnny, two fiercely independent young spirits from different worlds who come together in what becomes the most challenging and triumphant summer of their lives.
Audiences are taken back to the film's summer of 1963, with the romance between Frances 'Baby' Houseman and dance instructor Johnny Castle at its centre, carried by the show's sensational score and celebrated choreography. Billed as a worldwide smash hit seen by millions, the production is described as exploding with heart-pounding music, breathtaking emotion and sensationally sexy dancing. It's the same story you know, just moved from the screen to the stage.
The Glasgow run is a short one, with performances from Tuesday 13 October through to Saturday 17 October. On Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, the curtain goes up at 7.30pm. Friday is a double-bill, with a 5pm matinee followed by an 8.30pm evening show. Saturday also has two: a 2.30pm matinee and a 7.30pm evening performance. If you're planning your week, that's six shows in five days to choose from.
