Bronwynne Brent returns to Glasgow with her soulful, genre-blending sound within the Celtic Connections festival, performing in an intimate trio format.
Bronwynne Brent returns to Glasgow on Saturday 30 January, playing Cottiers as part of the Celtic Connections festival. She's from Mississippi's Delta region, and the sound she brings over here is a soulful, genre-blending mix that draws on folk, blues, jazz and Americana. It's the same intimate trio format UK audiences have come to know, with her voice supported by subtle guitar and bass arrangements.
That voice is the centre of it all — rich and expressive, it's drawn comparisons to classic vocal stylists across generations, and Bob Harris called her 'really special'. Her live shows balance heartfelt storytelling with effortless musicianship and timeless songwriting, and she's built devoted audiences on both sides of the Atlantic. This Celtic Connections appearance also marks the world premiere presentation of material from her forthcoming fourth album, so you'll be among the first to hear what she's been working on.
