The legendary Scottish soul and funk band returns with their 'Back to the Groove '26' mini tour, featuring early classics and timeless anthems.
Big Vern n The Shootahs bring their soul and funk show Back to the Groove '26 to Cottiers on Friday 20 November. It's a stop on a mini tour that goes back to the songs that started it all: the early classics, the biggest grooves and the timeless anthems that built their name. If you've followed them for a while, that's exactly what you're getting — the songs they first became known for rather than a set of new material.
They've been at this for 37 years, tearing up stages and filling dancefloors since 1989. Over that time they've performed all over the world and built a reputation as a go-to name for special clients; on their own site, they bill themselves as the UK's number one live band for corporate events, parties and special occasions. This show brings that same live energy to a public room, with the set built around the early songs that put them on the map.
As for what to expect on the night, they describe it as huge vocals, blazing brass, killer musicianship and wall-to-wall rhythm. It's a soul and funk show through and through, and the setlist leans on the classics that defined their early years. The band is the only act on the bill, so the whole night is in their hands.
