Art exhibition celebrating artistic imagination and Black History Month, marking the opening of the Centre Of Wellbeing cafe in the Gorbals.
Coconut Water Art is presenting B.I.G, an art exhibition running from Saturday 24 October to Sunday 25 October at the Centre Of Wellbeing in the Gorbals. The title stands for Black Imagination and Greatness, and it's a bit of a manifesto as much as a name: it's meant to set a scale that artists can inhabit and embody well beyond Black History Month, and it asks for the biggest pieces in the brightest colours inside a Glasgow heritage venue.
The exhibition doubles as the opening of the Centre Of Wellbeing itself, which is launching as a cafe with plans to add treatment and therapy rooms and to host more events and workshops down the line. So you're catching the first few days of a new community space as much as you are the art. Along with the main show, they're also displaying Rottenrow: The Birth Of A City, a heritage piece about the city's maternity hospital that's usually shown at the Friends of Glasgow Royal Infirmary Museum.

It's a short run, so you'll want to make your move early. Both days run from midday to 4pm, and it's pay-what-you-choose, so you can give what you can. You'll find it at the Centre Of Wellbeing, 170 Gorbals Street, Glasgow South Side G5 9BB.
