Halloween magic show with award-winning paranormal illusionist Ash Pryce, mixing seance demonstrations, mind reading and witchcraft at the Britannia Panopticon.
Ash Pryce brings Spook Show: Magic That Goes Bump In The Night to The Britannia Panopticon Music Hall on Saturday 17 October, just a few days before Halloween. It's a celebration of everything associated with the holiday, mixing the lighter side of the season with the darker things that go bump in the night. The set pulls together seance demonstrations, mind reading and witchcraft practices, and it swings between the funny and ridiculous and the dark and macabre.
Pryce bills himself as a 'Paranormal Illusionist and Ghost-Master' and has been a sell-out performer for ten years running. He was shortlisted at the Neurodiverse Reviews Awards, took runner-up for Best Cabaret & Variety at the Fringe Biscuit Trends Award 2026, and was named a Sell-Out Performer at the Edinburgh Horror Festival.
The venue does a lot of the heavy lifting here. The Britannia Panopticon Music Hall in Trongate is the world's oldest surviving music hall, built in 1857 by Thomas Gildard and HM McFarlane. Stan Laurel made his first stage appearance there on amateur night in 1906, the same year A E Pickard renamed it the Panopticon and added a freak show, a rooftop carnival, a waxworks and an indoor zoo. It's a room with a long, strange history of its own, which fits a night built around the paranormal and the macabre.
