Concert by the Northern Irish instrumental band And So I Watch You From Afar, presented by Core at The Art School, with support from Caspian and otay:onii.
And So I Watch You From Afar play The Art School on Saturday 17 October, a headline show presented by Core. They're joined by Caspian and otay:onii, with the night billed as post-rock.
And So I Watch You From Afar are a Northern Irish instrumental band who emerged from the freezing winters on the northernmost tip of Ireland. They play raw, charging, experimental music that's hard to pin down: sometimes angular and noisy, sometimes pulsing, euphoric and overwhelming. In 2006 they jumped in a van and toured relentlessly across Europe, the USA, Russia, Asia, Central America and Australia, building a cult following worldwide. Their albums are uncompromising and exploratory, and they embody a spirit of independence, DIY and realness. Live, the band is described as a source of real joy, power and escapism.
It's a full bill, with Caspian and otay:onii opening for them. The whole night sits under the post-rock banner, so if that's your thing, you've got three acts in one go. The Art School is at 20 Scott Street in the city centre, G3 6RJ.
