Alice Cooper, the Godfather of Shock Rock, presents his definitive autobiography Devil on My Shoulder with an audience Q&A, moderated by Billy Sloan.
Alice Cooper is coming to The Pavilion Theatre on Monday 19 October, part of a small run of eight intimate UK dates. It's not a concert β there's no band and no stage show. Instead, it's a speaking engagement, with Cooper joined by guest moderator Billy Sloan, and an audience Q&A to finish.
The tour follows the release of his autobiography, Devil on My Shoulder, published by Ebury Spotlight on 8 October. Cooper, the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame inductee born Vincent Damon Furnier, describes the book as lifting the lid on one of the greatest lives in music, drawing on more than sixty years of rock folklore. He frames his life through the two Alices that became intertwined: the murderous, morally corrupt theatrical character and the sober pastor's son who plays him.
That's a lot of ground to cover, and the names he drops along the way are a good indication of the company he's kept. The book brings in anecdotes involving Salvador DalΓ, Bob Hope, John Lennon, Jimi Hendrix, Andy Warhol and Bette Davis. The evening itself is built around that material, with Sloan leading the conversation and the audience getting their own turn to ask questions.

It's a different way to see someone you'd usually associate with a full stage production β just the man himself talking through his life and career in a theatre setting. The Glasgow date is one of eight UK stops, so it's one of the few times he'll be doing this on this side of the Atlantic. The show starts at 6:30 PM at The Pavilion Theatre.
