A night of West End and Broadway show tunes performed by a professional cast of four singers, presented by Insideout Theatre Productions.
A Night at the Musicals comes to the King's Theatre on Friday 5 February 2027, with the curtain going up at 19:30. It's presented by Insideout Theatre Productions, the same team behind Girls' Night Oot!, and it's a show they've been touring around Scotland for more than ten years now. Over that time, they've built a reputation for getting audiences dancing in the aisles, so it's less of a sit-still-and-listen kind of evening.
The format is straightforward: a professional cast of four singers taking on a selection of show tunes from London's West End and Broadway. They pull from the big titles you'll recognise — Les Misérables, The Phantom of the Opera and Wicked are among them — so it's a good mix of the songs that have stayed in the public consciousness long after the shows themselves closed. With four voices to work with, they can handle the harmonies and the bigger numbers that a smaller group might struggle to fill.
Because it's a touring show, it's not a one-off; it's a production that's been on the road across Scotland for a decade, so the cast knows the material inside out. It's a night that leans on the familiarity of the West End and Broadway songbooks rather than a single story, which means you'll hear a fair few tunes you already know. If you're into musical theatre, it's a chance to hear some of the biggest numbers performed live in the city.
