Gig by Tokyo-born jazz and electronic musician Takuya Nakamura, part of Sneaky Pete's day party series.
Takuya Nakamura plays Sneaky Pete's on Sunday 25 October, from 18:00 to 22:00. It's a single-name bill, so he's the only one on the night.
Nakamura's a Tokyo native who moved to the US in 1990 to study under the jazz theorist and composer George Russell at the New England Conservatory of Music. From there he became a fixture of New York's jazz and jungle scenes, and he's worked with names like Quincy Jones, David Byrne and Arto Lindsay. The thing that ties it all together is how he blends those deep jazz roots with cutting-edge electronic production, and that's exactly the kind of thing you'll hear here.

The Edinburgh date is part of Sneaky Pete's day party series, which also books sets in Glasgow. It's a Sunday afternoon slot, so it's more of a late-afternoon session than a late-night one, running from 6pm to 10pm.
