Jump'n Bingo

Jump'n Bingo is coming to Shanghai Nightclub on Saturday 30 January, bringing its particular take on the bingo hall to Edinburgh. If you've never come across it, the name gives away the basic setup: it's bingo, but with a dancefloor and a DJ involved, so it's as much about the music as it is about the numbers.

That's the core of it, really. You've got the bingo side of things running—the calling, the marking off your card, the race to be the first to shout it out—and the dance side going alongside it. It's a night that sits somewhere between a proper bingo session and a club night, and the two parts run together rather than one following the other. If you're more into the game, you've got that to focus on; if you're there for the music, there's plenty of that to keep you moving.

It's a fairly straightforward premise, but it's one that works because it puts two very different kinds of night under one roof. You get the competitive, focused side of the bingo and the loose, social side of the dancefloor, and you can lean into whichever one you're in the mood for. It's a good shout for a Saturday afternoon when you're not quite ready for a late one but still want something that feels like a proper night out.

It kicks off at 16:00 at Shanghai Nightclub, and tickets start from £13.47.
