An evening of early-stage scratch performances of dance and theatre made for children and young people, aimed at artists and industry colleagues.
Imaginate is partnering with the Traverse Theatre for Scratch That!, an evening of early-stage scratch performances of dance and theatre made for children and young people. It runs on Thursday 12 November 2026 in Traverse 2, at 10 Cambridge Street, Edinburgh West EH1 2ED.
The format is deliberately unpolished: artists try out new ideas in front of a room of peers, with no expectation of a finished piece and a chance to give and receive constructive feedback. The audience is the point, too. The night is aimed at artists, freelancers and industry colleagues rather than at children or the general public, with time for networking afterwards. The session runs for around two hours.
Scottish artists and freelancers can apply to take part, either solo or with up to four collaborators, with scratches of roughly five to ten minutes each. It's a space for work that's still in the making, so you'll see things in a state they rarely get to show on a proper bill.
