Fortnightly storytelling session with storyteller Beth Cross, where guests hear a tale and draw images for her Story Quilts.
The Scottish Storytelling Centre hosts another Easy Sundays session on Sunday 29 November, from 11am to midday. This one features crafter and storyteller Beth Cross, and it's built around her Story Quilts.
If you've never come across them, the quilts are exactly what they sound like: fabric stories that come to life as the session unfolds. The way it works is that guests choose which tale they want to hear — there are dragons, brave adventurers, sea monsters, and a cheeky monkey to pick from — and then they draw their own story images to go into the next generation of quilt magic. It's a hands-on thing, so you're not just sitting and listening; you're adding your own bit to the mix.
Easy Sundays is a fortnightly series of stories, music, community and friendship run by the Centre and supported by TRACS (Traditional Arts and Culture Scotland). The whole thing is built around creating a warm and welcoming space for the community, so it's as much about the people in the room as it is about the storytelling. It's a family-friendly morning, and the venue is fully accessible, with level access, wheelchair-friendly spaces, accessible toilets and assistance dogs welcome.
