Comedy show hosted by McKenzie Goodwin and Rachel Scanlon, dedicated to sex positivity, queer dating and building a community of laughter and gayness.
Two D*Kes and a Mic bring their Soaking Wet Tour to Denver on Saturday, October 17. The show is the live version of their podcast, which they describe as unfiltered comedy that'll have you laughing until you cry. It's built around sex positivity, queer dating, and building a community of laughter and gayness, and the stage set pulls from the same segments that run through the podcast: 'Gay News', 'Ask a Dyke', 'Bumble Fumbles', 'What's Gayer', and 'Who Tops Who'.
The two behind it are best friends McKenzie Goodwin and Rachel Scanlon. Goodwin is an LA-based comedian, writer, and director who's been called the 'Norah Jones of comedy' and whose feature-film debut is Meeting Marsha. Scanlon is a Minnesota stand-up who's appeared on Don't Tell Comedy, JFL's Straight Up Stand Up, and Comedy Central. The two of them host the podcast and the touring show together, and the whole thing is a conversation between them that opens up to the room.
If you're into the podcast, the live show is where you get to hear those segments played out in person. 'Gay News' keeps things current, 'Ask a Dyke' takes on questions, 'Bumble Fumbles' looks at the messy side of dating apps, 'What's Gayer' is the debate segment, and 'Who Tops Who' is the one that usually gets the biggest reaction. It's the same format as the podcast, just with a live audience in the room.
