Hip-hop performance by Token, featuring rapid-fire wordplay and mental health themes, with Clark D.
Token plays Larimer Lounge on Friday, November 13, with Clark D opening. If you're not familiar, Token is a Boston-area rapper who built his name on viral freestyles and a rapid-fire delivery that draws comparisons to early Eminem. He's an outlier in hip-hop, known for sharp wordplay, head-spinning verbal acrobatics, and off-kilter hooks.
He balances that technical side with personal songwriting about mental health, family, and identity. His catalog includes Eraser Shavings, Between Somewhere, Pink Is Better, and I'm Not Supposed to Be Here, which came out in 2025. He signed with Atlantic Records in 2020 and has collaborated with Tech N9ne and Lil Darkie.
His latest album, I'm Leaving Soon, was released on his own label, Never Too Different. It pairs industrial-inspired production with the same razor-sharp lyricism that's a hallmark of his work. That's the record he's touring now, so expect a set that leans on the new material while pulling from the older stuff.

For a bit of background, Token was born Benjamin David Goldberg in Salem, Massachusetts, and grew up north of Boston. He started producing his own tracks early on, and the fast-paced style he developed there is still a big part of what he does. He broke through with those viral freestyles, including appearances on Sway in the Morning, and has been carving out his own lane ever since.
The show is all ages, 16 and up. Doors open at 5 PM, and the music starts at 5:30 PM at Larimer Lounge, 2721 Larimer St, Denver, CO 80205.
