Street festival with local makers, food, live music, and a ticketed wine tasting featuring nine wineries and one meadery in RiNo.
TheBigWonderful Wine Fest takes over NOVEL RiNo on Saturday, October 10, from 1 PM to 6 PM. It's a ticketed wine tasting inside the venue, but it's built around a free street festival that fills the block with 34 makers of elevated, giftable goods, food pairings, and wineries selling bottles outdoors. The whole thing is part of THEBIGWONDERFUL, the Denver beer fest, bluegrass stage, and maker market that's been running since 2014.
Inside, the tasting runs in two separate two-hour sessions, each with unlimited one-ounce pours. Nine wineries and one meadery are on the list, with more than 50 wines to work through. Dragon Meadery makes its honey wine from local honey, mountain water, and fresh-pressed local fruit. Bookcliff Vineyards grows its own grapes on a 37-acre Palisade estate at 4,600 feet, and every one of its wines is 100% Colorado grown. If you buy bottles inside, a complimentary Wine Valet carries them for you. And if you tour NOVEL RiNo, you're entered to win a bottle from any winery at the festival.
Music runs through the day, too. DJ Prodigy keeps things moving, and Ronnie Raygun & The Big Eighties bring the 80s tribute—they've been covering Billy Idol, Pat Benatar, Blondie, Def Leppard, Joan Jett, and the Go-Go's since 2001.
