Folk-rock band The Takes from Portland, Oregon, perform live at Globe Hall with support from Kohanna and Drift Rd.
The Takes play Globe Hall on Friday, October 16, with Kohanna and Drift Rd. opening. They're a folk-rock band from Portland, Oregon, fronted by Sumner Rahr on guitar and vocals, Guido Rahr on guitar, and Phoebe Webb on bass. They've opened for Houndmouth, Wilderado, Briscoe, and Penelope Road, and they've put up more than 3.5 million career streams.
Their 2024 EP Lay Hold leaned into the band's country and blues rock tendencies, and it landed them debut sets at Bonnaroo, BottleRock, and Extra Innings Fest, as well as sold-out headline dates at New York City's Mercury Lounge, in Chicago, and in Colorado Springs. In the summer of 2025, they released the single "Take My Time," produced by Jon Gilbert. Their third EP, Uprooting Roses, produced with David Baron, arrived on May 1, 2026, and it came with a string of US support dates behind The Runarounds and sets at Treefort Fest and the Calgary Stampede.
