A two-woman, interactive female comedy exploring the woman's world with joy and wit, taking the audience on a fast-paced journey from girlhood to womanhood.
The Secret Comedy of Women returns to the Garner Galleria Theatre on Wednesday, April 21, and stays through May 16. It's a two-woman interactive comedy that takes a look at a woman's world with joy, heart, and a good deal of wit, following a fast-paced journey from girlhood to womanhood. Along the way, it covers the ground you'd expect: boys and bras, pantyhose and menopause.
DCPA Cabaret presents the show, and the setting is part of the experience. The Garner Galleria Theatre is in the heart of downtown's Arts Complex at the Denver Center for the Performing Arts, and the production is staged close-up, which suits the program's focus on comedy and storytelling built for direct audience connection. The interactive side of things means you're not just watching from the dark; you're part of the room.
It's coming back by popular demand, and the reviews have been strong. Broadway World called it "laugh out loud comedy!", The Rocky Mountain News described it as "raucously funny," and the Denver Post called it "truly brilliant." The production is by arrangement with Fiery Angel Limited.
