Hands-on sushi rolling class to master basics, with half-price sake flights afterward.
Colorado Sake Co is hosting Sushi Rolling 101 on Tuesday, October 13, at 6:30 PM in Denver's RiNo district. It's a hands-on class where you'll learn the basics of rolling your own sushi, and the session is led by sushi chefs trained in traditional Japanese techniques who bring more than 20 years of experience to the table. Once the class wraps, there's a half-price sake flight to follow, so you can sample a few pours at a discount.
If you haven't been, Colorado Sake Co is the only sake brewery in the state. They brew on-site, with a dozen sakes made right there—their signature is the American Standard Junmai Ginjo—and they round out the menu with a sake seltzer and a weekend dim sum brunch. The brewery also runs a sushi restaurant and an izakaya-style small plates menu, so there's plenty to eat beyond the class.
This class is part of a wider weekly calendar they keep running: sake tastings, culinary classes, trivia, yoga, live jazz, and those dim sum brunches. They also handle private events for 15 to 75 guests with a stage, microphone, and projector on hand. The sushi classes themselves are taught by chefs trained in traditional Japanese techniques, drawing on more than 20 years of experience.
