Shpongle live at Fillmore Auditorium, performing downtempo and psydub music.
Shpongle plays the Fillmore Auditorium on Friday, October 23, 2026. It's a single-act bill, so the whole night is built around them.
If you're not already familiar, Shpongle is the project of Simon Posford and Raja Ram, and the sound they've built over the years sits right at the intersection of downtempo and psydub. It's a slower, more atmospheric side of the psychedelic scene—less about the high-speed dancefloor and more about the textures, the deep bass, and the way the tracks unfold. The downtempo side keeps things mid-tempo and melodic, while the psydub brings in the heavy, spaced-out rhythms and the dubby echoes that give the music its room to breathe.
Because it's just Shpongle on the bill, the set has plenty of space to stretch out. The downtempo and psydub styles both lean toward longer, evolving pieces rather than short songs, so the music can shift and change over the course of the night without having to rush through a setlist. It's the kind of show where you can settle in and let the sound carry you, rather than waiting for the next track to start.
