The Punch Brothers perform live at the Paramount Theatre in Denver, showcasing their virtuosic bluegrass and folk music.
Punch Brothers play the Paramount Theatre on Wednesday, October 14, at 8 PM. They've been around since 2006, a five-piece led by mandolinist Chris Thile, with guitarist Chris Eldridge, bassist Paul Kowert, banjoist Noam Pikelny, and violinist Brittany Haas. It's an all-acoustic lineup—mandolin, guitar, bass, banjo, and violin—and they've built their name on pushing that sound past where it usually goes.
That direction earned them a Grammy for Best Folk Album for All Ashore in 2018, and The Washington Post described their work as taking bluegrass to its next evolutionary stage. Their discography runs from Antifogmatic in 2010 to Who's Feeling Young Now in 2012 and The Phosphorescent Blues in 2015, so there's a fair amount of ground to draw from.
In more recent years, they've been working on The Energy Curfew Music Hour, a musical variety show they've developed over two seasons, both of which you can find on Audible and other podcast platforms. It's a different kind of project from their albums, and it's where they've been spending a lot of their time lately.

If you're coming from the records, All Ashore is the one that brought home the Grammy, and Antifogmatic is the one that started it all. The show is on Wednesday, October 14, at 8 PM at the Paramount Theatre in Denver.
