Open Mic Comedy Night Hosted by Anthony Crawford

Anthony Crawford is hosting an open mic comedy night at Lion's Lair on Monday, October 12, and the format is as straightforward as it gets. Crawford is coming in from Memphis, Tennessee, to run the evening, and the whole thing is built around the open mic: anyone who wants a spot can sign up when the night kicks off.

That's the thing about these nights — the lineup isn't set in advance. It's filled on the fly by whoever shows up and puts their name on the list, so you'll get a mix of people you've seen a dozen times and folks stepping onto a stage for the first time. It's a bit of a gamble, which is part of the draw: you might catch a seasoned comic working through new material or a complete newcomer finding their footing in real time.

If you're thinking of getting on stage yourself, the sign-up opens at 10 PM, so you'll want to be there early to get your name down. If you'd rather just watch, the show runs from 10 PM to 11:59 PM, and you can just hang back and see who ends up taking the mic.

It's at Lion's Lair, 2022 East Colfax Avenue in Denver, and there's no cover, so it's an easy one to drop into without spending anything. Just a heads-up that it's 21+, so bring your ID. Sign-ups start at 10 PM, and the night goes until midnight.
