Modern metal band Opal In Sky performs at HQ in Denver with support from Levels and Mirrorcell in an all-ages night.
Opal In Sky play HQ on Saturday, October 10, with support from Levels and Mirrorcell. The Vancouver-based act is presented by Anchors Aweigh for an all-ages night, so you can bring along anyone you want. The show starts at 8 PM at 60 S Broadway in Denver.
Levels comes from Hollywood, California, and Mirrorcell is a modern metal band from Kansas City, Missouri, formed in 2022. Frontman Nate Cell took the name from the mirror cell—a compartment that houses a mirror—as a metaphor for introspection and self-exploration. He wrote their material with co-writers Caleb Freihaut of The Funeral Portrait and Ben McGuiness, who has worked with Landon Towers, Emarosa, and Waterparks. Their debut single, "Bleach," came out in August 2023 and set a visceral, cinematic tone; their EP, Reflecting the Inner Self, leans further into that introspective vein.
Mirrorcell draws from 1990s and 2000s acts like Deftones, Nine Inch Nails, and Björk, alongside modern metal names like Code Orange, Loathe, and Vein.fm. They blend gritty, emotive tones with an ethereally atmospheric soundscape, and that's the kind of ground they'll be covering on the bill. Between the three acts, the night pulls together bands from Vancouver, Hollywood, and Kansas City.
