Community craft night with guided activities like embroidery, crochet, and book making; materials provided.
Making Our Way Back Craft Night returns to The Shop at MATTER on Tuesday, October 20, from 5 to 8 PM. It's a community craft night that runs every second Tuesday of the month, so if you can't make this one, there's another one coming a few weeks later.
On the table are guided activities like embroidery, crochet, and bookmaking. The night is led by a rotating crew of makers who describe their approach as leading with curiosity rather than perfection, and all the materials and tools are provided, so you don't need to bring anything with you. It's framed as a novice-friendly, judgment-free space to decompress and connect, with the rhythm of making treated as a form of care, resilience, and shared knowledge.
The host is The Shop at MATTER, located at 2114 Market Street in Denver. It's the region's only Black- and woman-owned bookstore, a small, family-owned and operated shop deeply connected to activism and to the elevation of historically marginalized voices—whether by caste, gender, economics, or race. Beyond the craft night, the shop runs other programming for Denver's creative sector, including author and book talks and book clubs.
