A children and parent storytime event with book readings, activities, and discussions for Denver families.
Little Radicals Story Time is back at The Shop at MATTER on Sunday, October 25, from 9 AM to 11 AM. It's a storytime for children and parents that pairs book readings with activities and discussions, and it's free to attend. If you've missed it before, this is part of a monthly series that runs on the last Sunday of every month from April 26 through December 27, 2026.
The venue itself is worth a mention. The Shop at MATTER is an independent, Black- and woman-owned bookstore inside MATTER, which is Denver's only design studio, manufactory, and design shop. They describe the shop as serving the book needs of revolutionaries, designers, and other thinking persons, with a focus on typography, design, resistance, and love-centric books and products. Along the shelves, you'll find carefully curated objects and rare finds from around the world, and the whole thing sits within the RiNo Art District.
That background colors the kind of books and conversations you'll find here. The readings aren't just for the kids; the activities and discussions are built for families to work through together. It's a morning meant for reading aloud and talking about what comes next, all within a space that takes design and resistance seriously.
