Comedy duo #IMOMSOHARD performs their stand-up and storytelling act on their fifth national tour, The Flashback Tour, at the Paramount Theatre.
#IMomSoHard brings The Flashback Tour to the Paramount Theatre on Friday, October 23, at 7:30 PM. The act is Kristin Hensley and Jen Smedley, real-life best friends and comedians who started as a web series. They built their following by talking openly about the fears and failures of motherhood, with the idea that the only way to survive it is through laughter and friendship. The first video was a hit that sparked an online community of two million followers and nearly 300 million views worldwide in five years. From there, they made weekly videos about womanhood and motherhood, eventually growing to over three million followers, four sold-out national tours, a podcast, a New York Times bestseller, and a TV deal.
Their stage name comes from the idea of "going hard" at motherhood — not in a perfect, Instagram-ready way, but in an "I'm trying my best and laughing so I don't cry" way. On stage, they mix stand-up, storytelling, and audience interaction, and this is their fifth original nationwide tour. Hensley and Smedley grew up in Nebraska and met doing comedy and acting in Los Angeles.
